The Amari Vang Vieng is a large hotel that is part of the Amari hotel group.
Probably because it is part of a large group it is rather impersonal. The whole look is meant to show that it is great. A very large high reception, the same applies to the restaurant.
The staff, on the other hand, is exceptionally friendly and helpful, which actually makes up for almost everything.

We have a neat spacious room, approximately 32 square meters with a view of the river and the mountains across the river.
The room appears clean and has a tiled floor. There is a spacious and good double bed, flat screen TV, dressing table without mirror, mini-bar with free water, bathrobes, slippers, flashlight, smoke detector, 2 sprinklers, silent air conditioning, rack for the suitcases, rack to hang clothes and a wardrobe. The furniture looks a bit dated.
We miss a seat.

The bathroom has a large window to the living room, you can close a curtain. There is a regular hand shower and a rain shower, shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel, toothbrushes and two sets of towels. The sink offers enough space for our toiletries. There is fast and enough hot water.
The floor of the shower feels a bit slippery.

Furthermore, the hotel offers a restaurant where breakfast (not included) is served, a swimming pool with sun loungers and a car park. Maybe there are more amenities, but we haven't seen them.

We were here on Friday, March 6, 2020, on Saturday, March 7, 2020. and on Sunday, March 8, 2020.
We paid about 70 Euro per night.
